What to Put in Your Link in Bio (A Guide for Pakistan)

One link, and most people waste it. What actually belongs in a link in bio for a Pakistani creator, seller or freelancer — and what to leave out.

Instagram gives you one link. TikTok gives you one link. Most people point it at a homepage, a Linktree with eleven grey buttons, or nothing at all.

The link is the only place on your profile where somebody can do something. It deserves more thought than it usually gets. If you have not picked a tool yet, start with our comparison of free link-in-bio options; this guide is about what to put on the page once you have one.

Start from what you want them to do

Before you add a single button, finish this sentence: "When somebody taps my link, I want them to ______."

Buy something. Book a session. Message me about a collaboration. Listen to the new track. Whatever it is — that is the first thing on the page, and everything else goes underneath.

A page with one obvious action outperforms a page with nine equal ones. Every time.

The order that works

1. Who you are, in one line. "Ayesha — handmade ceramics, Lahore." Not "Welcome to my page 🌸✨". Somebody who found you through a Reel needs to know in two seconds whether they are in the right place.

2. The thing you want them to do. If you sell, this is your products, with prices. If you take bookings, this is the booking link. Put it above where the screen cuts off.

3. Everything else. Your other socials, your WhatsApp, your older work. These matter, but they are not why the page exists.

If you sell, put prices on the page

Pakistani sellers often hide prices, on the theory that a DM lets you negotiate. In practice hiding prices filters out the people who would have bought at your asking price and keeps the ones who want a discount.

Put the price on the product. Put the delivery charge somewhere obvious. Let the page answer the two questions you are otherwise answering fifty times a day.

Make the ordering match how you already work

There is no point sending someone to a checkout that does not match how you actually sell. In Pakistan that usually means one of three things:

Pick the one you will actually check. A page that sends orders somewhere you do not look is worse than no page.

Things to leave off

Eleven links. If everything is important, nothing is. Three to five.

A link to your own Instagram. They are already there.

"Coming soon." Either it is there or it is not.

Anything that opens an app the visitor does not have. Test your own link on a cheap Android phone before you trust it.

Make it load on a bad connection

A lot of Pakistan browses on mobile data that is not fast. A link-in-bio page that takes six seconds to appear has lost most of its visitors before it arrives.

Two things matter more than anything else: how heavy your images are, and how many of them load before anything is visible. Compress your photos before you upload them. If you need a hand, our free image compressor will do it in your browser without uploading anything anywhere.

Test it like a stranger

Open your own link on a phone that is not yours, on mobile data, signed out of everything. Try to buy something. Time it.

Most people find at least one broken thing the first time they do this properly, and it is usually something they had looked at a hundred times.

Frequently asked questions

How many links should be on a link in bio page? Three to five, with one of them clearly the main action. More than that and people choose nothing.

Should the page match my Instagram feed? Roughly. It should feel like the same person — same colours, same photo, same tone. It does not need to be identical, and chasing that is a good way to never publish it.

Do I need a custom domain? No. A clean handle on a service people can spell is enough. Spend the money on better product photographs instead.

Can I change it later? You should. Treat the link like a shop window, not a monument — update it when your work changes, and check it every month or two.
