How do I add a watermark to a photo?+

Can I watermark lots of images at once?+
Yes, and that is what the tool is built for. One setup applies to every image in the batch and you get them back as a ZIP. Without an account you can do 10 images at a time; signed in, there is no batch limit.
Is my image uploaded to a server?+
No. The image is decoded, drawn and re-encoded in your browser, and no copy is ever sent anywhere. That is the point: people watermark work because they are about to publish it, and handing the original to a stranger first defeats the exercise.
Does watermarking reduce the quality of my image?+
The photograph is never resized, so the resolution is exactly what you started with. Re-encoding a JPEG does cost a little — that is true of any tool that writes a JPEG — and you can set the quality, or output PNG to avoid it entirely.
What is a tiled watermark for?+
Covering an image so it cannot be usefully cropped out. It is what proof galleries, stock previews and confidential documents use, because a single corner mark can be trimmed off in seconds.
Will a watermark stop people stealing my photos?+
It raises the cost and it establishes who made the work; it is not a lock. A determined person can crop or paint one out, which is why a mark placed over the subject, or tiled, is harder to defeat than one tucked in a corner. Treat it as a deterrent and a signature rather than as protection.
Can I save a watermark and reuse it?+
Yes, with a free account. A saved preset keeps the text or logo, the position, size, opacity and rotation, and it is stored with your account rather than in the browser — so it is waiting on whichever machine you open next. The tool itself needs no account, and the images are never uploaded either way.
Can I use a transparent PNG logo?+
Yes, and it is the best thing to use. Transparency is preserved, and you can set the size, opacity and rotation independently of the image.
Which formats can I use?+
JPG, PNG and WebP go in and come out. HEIC files from an iPhone will not open here — Chrome, Edge and Firefox cannot decode that format at all — so convert those first.
