Reporting a card, product or account

How to report something, what happens next, and what the outcomes are.

Every public card carries a report option. Use it if you find a scam, an impersonation, stolen photos, counterfeit goods or anything else that breaks the Acceptable Use Policy.

    1. Open the card and choose to report it.
    2. Say what is wrong, as specifically as you can.
    3. Send it. The report reaches the moderation queue with the card attached.

    What can happen next

    • Nothing, if the report does not hold up.
    • Content is removed or restricted.
    • The account is suspended.
    • The account is terminated permanently.

Which one depends on how serious it is, whether it has happened before, and what harm it is doing. When a card is taken down, the username on it is released and can be claimed by someone else.

Reporting a copyright or trademark problem is covered separately by the Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy, which sets out what a valid notice has to contain.
